Class of 2008!

Wow! Where do I begin? C is such an exceptional child. We are so blessed by her every day. As many of you know, R & I have struggled with what to do about C's kindergarten experience. With her October 1 birthday, she does not meet the age requirements for the State of Texas (public schools) even though she is ready for kindergarten next year. Everyone tells us that she is ready! We wish that we could just "fix" her birth certificate and be done, but that would land us in jail, right?

C has been in pre-kinder this year with the possibility of attending private school kinder for 2008-09 and then Dual Language public school kinder in 2009-10. R & I have prayed about C's school experience and hoped that the Lord would lead us to the right program for our extraordinary girl. Well, yesterday (about 5 hours before graduation - in which C was NOT scheduled to walk) her teacher, Mrs. Laura convinced me that C needs to be in kindergarten next year (instead of another year of pre-, which is what I had enrolled her in for next year). We're waiting on approval by the school board (the school is the K-6 school at the same church where she attended preschool this year). We are praying that the principal and board have open minds, open hearts and open ears when the preschool director, C's preschool teacher and the kinder teacher all go to their board meeting to plead C's case.

In the meantime, please enjoy these graduation photos. Who knows...if the Lord wants C to have another great year at The Sonshine School, then you'll see similar photos this time next year. We are comforted in knowing that God has great things in store for C wherever she goes to school next year!

Much love to all & SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!!!!
