Teacher Appreciation Week

I remember several special teachers whom I had during my school years. I think of them from time to time and I am always thankful for their patience with me. Whether it was my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Seaman who put up with my constant chatter (I was always the social one of the class...go figure!) or my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Durrett who was so supportive during a difficult year. Then there was my incredible French professor, Dr. Linder who inspired me to take 26 hours of French! And Dr. Sivils, a professor who taught me so very much about the "real world" of marketing, apparel design/manufacturing, public relations...so much! Thank you to my wonderful teachers!

I've been busy chairing the Teacher Appreciation Committee at AB's school. Yesterday, we served the teachers a beautiful breakfast. We will have a dessert party for them on Friday and each day this week, we're delivering "pick me up" gifts such as a packet of Bluebonnet seeds with a note attached, "Thank you for planting the seeds of knowledge in our children." I wish that we could do more for our teachers. They are the reason that AB's school has been named a National Blue Ribbon School - TWICE!

Think about a special teacher in your life and thank her (or him!) for how they influence(d) you or your family!
